TEMPE, Ariz. – Sun Devil triathlon hits the road for the first time in nearly a month for the Western Regional Qualifier in Berkeley, Calif. this weekend. A part of the annual Cal Bearathlon, the women's draft legal qualifier will take place at 7:30 am PT on Saturday, Sept. 30.
Last time out, Arizona State finished in order at the Central Regional Qualifier in Naperville, Ill., with the group of seven finishing 1-7 led by Hannah Henry, Katie Gorczyca, and Kyla Roy on the medal stand. The first-place team finish qualified a Sun Devil team for November's national championship in Tempe (Nov. 5).
Saturday's course features a 750-meter swim, a 3-loop 20km bike, and a 2-loop 5km run.
Since the last collegiate race earlier this month, Gorczyca (USA/U23), Roy and Henry (Canada/Juniors), competed at ITU World Triathlon Grand Finals in the Netherlands.

Arizona State will host the USA Triathlon Collegiate National Championship on Sunday, Nov. 5, with the inaugural Ignite the Fork age group triathlon prior to the collegiate race. Triathletes can register for the age group race HERE.
