    Men's Swimming Opens Up Pac-10 Championships on High Note

    LONG BEACH, Calif.--The Arizona State men's swimming team opened up the Pac-10 Championships swimming an NCAA consideration time of 1:29.59 in the 200 medley relay. The relay, comprised of freshman David Adalsteinsson, junior Jesper Akesson, junior Yutaro Yamashita and senior Nolan Ruane, finished in fifth place for ASU. 

    The Sun Devils also took sixth place in the 800 free relay with an NCAA consideration time of 6:38.52. Yamashita, freshman Ryan Glander, freshman Daniel Jurgs, and sophomore Caleb Veazey finished almost 10 seconds faster than their entry time.

    The individual events at the Pac-10 Championship start tomorrow at the Belmont Plaza Olympic Pool in Long Beach, Calif. Arizona State is currently in fifth place after the first two events with 54 points.
