Sun Devil Track and Field Opens Outdoor Season at Home
The Sun Devils will welcome Texas A&M, Kansas State and Minnesota to the 2013 Baldy Castillo Invitational in Tempe, Ariz., this weekend.
Arizona State: 2012 Outdoor: Earned a competing spot in the NCAA Division I West Preliminary Round in the 10,000m to place 20th... competed in the 10,000m Pac-12 Championships clocking a career best time of 35:23:85 to finish tenth overall...finished sixth in the 10,000m at the Mt. SAC Relays... clocked an 11:06.75 in the 3200m at the Baldy Castillo Invitational to set a career fastest time... competed in the 5000m at the 33rd Sun Angel Classic to clock a career fastest time of 17:17.00 and seventh place finish...2011 Track: Redshirted... competed in two races as an unattached athlete... finished a season-best sixth in the two-mile run at the Baldy Castillo Invitational... also ran the 5,000m event at the ASU Invitational... 2010 XC: Redshirted.
Mesa CC: Earned an Associates in Arts from Mesa Community College in Mesa, Ariz., before coming to Arizona State... competed in cross country and track & field for one year each at Paradise Valley Community College (Phoenix) and MCC... earned a pair of NJCAA All-America honors... finished 10th in the NJCAA Cross Country Championships in 2008 to earn All-America honors for PVCC... finished third in the 10,000m run at the 2010 NJCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships for MCC to earn All-America honors... set the MCC records in the 10,000m run outdoors and the 5,000m run both indoors and outdoors... helped PVCC to the NJCAA Region I Championship in cross country (2008).
High School: A 2008 graduate of Mountain View High School (Mesa, Ariz.)... lettered three times in track & field and twice in cross country... captained both teams as a senior... 2007 all-state selection in cross country... also was all-region and all-city in cross country in 2005 and 2006.
Personal: Majoring in kinesiology... parents are Jerry and Sue Hanna... has two siblings: brother Jeremy Hanna and sister Amber Evenson... born May 19, 1989, in Mesa, Ariz.... full name is Hailey Elizabeth Hanna.
