Sun Devil Track and Field Split Three Ways for Big Weekend
The ASU distance team will open up at the Husky Invite in Seattle, Wash., this weekend while the throwers will be at the Boise Challenge in Boise, Idaho, and the rest of the team at the Kirby Invite in Albuquerque, N.M.

Season Outlook: Men's Track and Field
Head coach Greg Kraft feels the men's track and field team has a great shot at challenging for the Pac-12 title this year.
Arizona State: Ranks second all-time at ASU in the indoor heptathlon after scoring 4,964 points in 2010... also set the heptathlon pole vault record by clearing 16-04.75 (5.00m) at the MPSF meet... also cleared 16-06.75 (5.05m) later in the 2010 indoor season to move into a tie for the fourth-best clearance in school history... 2011 Outdoor: Set career bests at the PAC-10 Multi-Event Championships in the 100m, 400m and javelin throw with times of 11.30 and 51.19 and a distance of 166-4 (50.71m), respectively, finishing ninth overall in the decathlon while setting a new career best score of 6,769... placed at the 2011 Double Dual (ASU-UA-NAU) in the pole vault and high jump as well as taking in the 110m hurdles...competed in the 110m hurdles, pole vault and javelin throw at the 2011 Sun Devil Open ...placed in four events (pole vault, 1500m, decathalon, 110m hurdles, shot put, discuss throw and javelin throw) at the Jim Click Combine Events where he set a career best discuss throw of 37.99m. 2011 Indoor: Siezed first place in the pole vault with a 16-00.75 (4.90m) vault at the New Mexico Collegiate Classic & Combined Events...placed third in the pole vault at the New Mexico Collegiate Invitational... 2010 Outdoor: Improved his decathlon score by nearly 600 points, scoring a total of 6,395 to place 10th at the Pac-10 Championships... broke the 6,000 point barrier earlier in the season by scoring 6,151 points at the Jim Click Multis to finish 11th overall... nearly broke 16-feet in the pole vault at the Pac-10 Multis, finishing with a personal-best of 15-11.00 (4.85m), the second-best clearance in the event that day... set a decathlon personal best in 8-of-10 events at the Pac-10 Multi meet... 2010 Indoor: Recorded a personal-best and ASU No. 2 all-time score of 4,964 points in the heptathlon at the MPSF Championships, finishing eighth in the event and scoring for the team... he cleared 16-04.75 (5.00m) in that same heptathlon to break the heptathlon pole vault record... finished second in the heptathlon at the Mountain `T' Multis (4,938)... won the pole vault to open the season at the Friday Night Challenge... 2009 Track: Redshirted.
High School: A 2008 graduate of Higley High School (Gilbert, Ariz.)... lettered in track & field four times, cross country twice and swimming once... captained the track & field team his last two years... two-time state 4A-II champion in the pole vault, winning titles in 2007 and 2008... selected as team MVP in 2008... set school records in three individual track & field events, including the pole vault, the 110m hurdles and decathlon... also a member of the record 4x400m relay on the track and the 4x50m freestyle in the pool... cross country team's Most Improved in 2005.
