Sun Devil Multi-Eventers in Prime Position at Pac-12 Combined Events
Pinnick second for ASU women, Sandys and Prince fourth and fifth for ASU men after Day One in Eugene.
Arizona State: Opened her career with ASU as one of the top up-and-coming all-around athletes on the team and recorded several marks that rank highly in school history... indoors, she ranks second in the pentathlon (3,909 points) and sixth in the 60m hurdles (8.65aa) while also helping the indoor 4x400m relay run 3:33.72 to record the No. 3 time in school history... scored 5,219 points at the 2010 Pac-10 Championships to move into fourth on the heptathlon list while taking over the heptathlon 800m record by running 2:13.99, bettering the previous of 2:14.56 run in 1990 by Gea Johnson... also has run 58.03 to be seventh on the all-time 400m hurdles list... 2011 Outdoor: Finished 21st overall in the heptathalon at the NCAA Division I Championships... Competed in the heptathalon at the PAC-10 Championships where she finished with a score of 5,385 to earn second place... set a winning career-best of 24.07 in the heptathon 200m, finished third in the heptathlon 100m hurdles with a career record of 13.87 and finished fourth in the high jump with a career record of 5-04.25 (1.63m)... competed in the 400m hurdles (seventh) and as a member of the 4x400m relay squad (fourth) in addition to her scoring performance in the heptathlon... was a key component in the 4x400m relay at the 32nd Sun Angel Track Classic to place second...set a career record in the heptathalon of 5,455 at the Jim Click Combined events to finish second overal... Her time of 57.97 in the 400m hurdles at the Mt. High School: A 2009 graduate of Waubonsie Valley High School (Aurora, Ill.)... lettered four times each in track & field and cross country... won seven state titles, including a sweep of the 100m hurdles and 300m hurdles in her senior year... also collected state titles indoors in the 55m hurdles, 200m dash, 400m dash (twice) and 800m run... state runner-up three times in the 300m hurdles while also taking second once in the 55m hurdles indoors... named the 2007 state athlete of the meet after entering four events with two wins and two runner-up finishes... has captured numerous national titles at the AAU National Championships, including two heptathlon crowns and one each in the 400m hurdles and the 800m run... ranked among the Top 10 nationally in the 300m and 400m hurdle events.
