Sun Devil Track and Field Split Three Ways for Big Weekend
The ASU distance team will open up at the Husky Invite in Seattle, Wash., this weekend while the throwers will be at the Boise Challenge in Boise, Idaho, and the rest of the team at the Kirby Invite in Albuquerque, N.M.

Season Outlook: Men's Track and Field
Head coach Greg Kraft feels the men's track and field team has a great shot at challenging for the Pac-12 title this year.
Arizona State: Ranks fourth on the school's all-time indoor heptathlon list with 4,817 points scored, a nearly-500 point improvement from the year prior... 2011 Outdoor: Competed at the Pac-10 Combined Events Championships to place eighth in the decathalon and set a career best of 6779, over 200 points better than his previous best...placed sixth in the 2011 Double Dual (ASU-UA-NAU) in the long jump with a 22-5 (6.83m) career record...placed in three events at the 2011 Sun Devil Open including pole vault, javelin throw and high jump in which he set a career best of (1.91m)6-3.25...placed second in the pole vault at the 53rd Mt. SAC Relays to vault a career high of 16-6.75(5.05m)...competed in the Jim Click Combined Events in the decathalon where he placed 14th overall while setting a career best shot put mark of 38-9.00 (11.81m) and running a career best 400m time of 49.78... 2011 Indoor: Competed in the MPSF indoor Track & Field Championships in the heptathalon to place 13th and set a his fastet 1000m time of 2:54.79...placed in the top-eight in four events at the Lumberjack invitational where he set a career high in the 60m hurdles of 9.07...placed fifth in the New Mexico Collegiate & Combined Heptathalon even with a career high of 4900 points as well as setting a career high in the 60m (7.19)... 2010 Outdoor: Finished ninth in the Pac-10 Championships in the decathlon with a personal-best score of 6,515 points... also competed in the pole vault at the conference meet, finishing 12th with a mark of 16-02.00 (4.93m)... cleared 16-06.75 (5.05m) to win the Mt. SAC Relays title and qualify for the NCAA Preliminary Round meet... bettered his personal-best mark in the pole vault six times and cleared 16-feet in five competitions on the year... 2010 Indoor: Finished third in the Mountain `T' Multis in the heptathlon with a personal-best score of 4,817 points... that score ranks fourth all-time in school history and was an improvement of almost 500 points from one year earlier... cleared a personal-best mark of 15-09.00 (4.80m) in the pole vault at the Mountain `T' Multis... also set personal bests in the high jump (6-00.75) at the NAU Invitational and 37-00.25 (11.28m) in the shot put at the Friday Night Challenge... 2009 Outdoor: Redshirted... 2009 Indoor: Finished eighth in his first indoor heptathlon, scoring 4,326 points... his point total ranks fifth all-time in program history.
High School: A 2008 graduate of Murrieta Valley High School (Murrieta, Calif.)... lettered in track & field three times and football twice... captained both teams as a senior... named the school's MVP for Jumps as a senior... set the meet record in the pole vault at the Inland Empire Championships... in football, selected as the Defensive Player of the Year (2007)... also earned Valley Athlete of the Week in football once.
