TEMPE – The Arizona State University track and field program continues added to the depth in the women’s distance group with the addition of Chelsey Totten (Santa Clarita, Calif./Golden Valley HS), who has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Sun Devils, head coach Greg Kraft announced.
Totten had the 16th-best time in the country in the mile as a junior last season and returns one of the top-25 best mile times in the nation this season and one of the top mile times in the state of California.
Totten advanced to the Footlocker West Regional Championships this past cross country season, finishing 46th overall.
ASU Distance Coach Ryan Cole on Totten:
“She really made some nice progress this past cross country season that should bode well for her senior track season. We are excited for her to come in and bolster our mid-distance group that we have here at ASU. I’m excited to work with her and watch her develop and I think she has some huge potential to be competitive within our conference and at the NCAA Division I level.
