Sun Devil Harriers Set for 'Home' Meet
The Arizona State cross country team will compete at the Grand Canyon Inviational in Goodyear on Saturday.
2011 Outdoor: Ran a personal-best time of 3:57.39 in the 1,500m run at the ASU Invitational... ran under his previous best two other times, including at the Baldy Castillo Invitational and the Sun Angel Track Classic... selected Academic All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention... 2011 Indoor: Ran in a pair of races at the Texas A&M Challenge... clocked a personal-best time of 4:18.18 in the mile... helped the DMR run 10:05.12 to finish third in the meet and post the 10th-fastest time in program history... 2010 XC: Ran in four races with one Top 25 finish, a 22nd-place showing at the George Kyte Invitational... earned Academic All-Pac-10 Honorable Mention... 2010 Outdoor: Ran in one race as the pace setter at the Double Dual... 2010 Indoor: Did not compete... 2009 XC: Ran in four races in his first action at Arizona State... placed in the Top 20 in three of those races... took a season-best eighth place at the ASU Invitational... opened the year with a 19th-place finish at the George Kyte Invitational and closed out the campaign with a 13th-place showing at the Mesa Thunderbird... selected to the Academic All-Pac-10 First Team... 2009 Track: Redshirted.
Northern Arizona: Competed for the Lumberjacks in both cross country and track & field before transferring to ASU (December 2008)... placed in the Top 5 overall in his first collegiate race before helping NAU to the team title at the 2007 NCAA Pre-National meet in Terre Haute, Ind.... was a member of two Big Sky Championship cross country squads (2007, 2008) and one track & field squad (2007)... also on the team that earned a trophy finish at the 2007 NCAA Championships where NAU placed fourth overall.
High School: A 2007 graduate of Valley Christian High School (Chandler, Ariz.)... lettered four times each in cross country and track & field and twice in soccer... captained the cross country squad for three years and the track team twice... collected a pair of state championships on the track during his senior season, including the 1,600m run and as a member of the 4x800m relay... was a part of three school records, including one individual mark (3,200m run) and two relays (4x800m and distance medley).
Personal: Major is Spanish... parents are Jay and Kelly Liston... has four siblings: brothers Chad, Carter and Bubba and sister Cassidy... father Jay played collegiate baseball at Texas Tech and grandfather John Liston played collegiate baseball at Iowa... born March 12, 1989, in Galesburg, Iowa... hobbies include playing with his dog and solving Rubik's Cube... full name is Cameron John Liston.
