Men's XC Posts Solid 16th-Place Run in Madison
Nick Happe paces men's squad with 40th-place finish, Houlihan leads women again
Arizona State: Finished 10th at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 1,500m run to become the first All-American in that event in school history (the only event ASU had never had an All-American)... ranks seventh all-time on the indoor mile chart after running 4:08.67 at the 2011 MPSF Championships... also is a member of the ninth and 10th-fastest indoor distance medley relay teams in school history... 2011 Outdoor: Earned All-America honors in the 1,500m run after placing 10th at the NCAA Championships in Des Moines, Iowa... won the 1,500m run at the Baldy Castillo Invitational to open the season... finished fourth at the Pac-10 Championships with a then-season best 3:44.57... placed seventh at the NCAA Preliminary Round Meet in 3:45.51 to reach the national meet... clocked a personal-best time of 3:44.46 in the national semifinals, just missing the all-time Top 10 in school history... also just missed the all-time Top 10 in the 5,000m run, clocking in at 13:57.27 at the Mt. SAC Relays... 2011 Indoor: Ran a personal-best time of 4:08.67 to score at the MPSF Indoor Championships by finishing eighth overall in the mile... led off the DMR in a pair of races, posting the ninth and 10th-best times in school history at the Texas A&M Challenge and MPSF meets, respectively... 2010 XC: Ran in six races for his first action with the Sun Devils... placed seventh at the Dave Murray Invitational for his top finish of the season... missed earning All-West Region honors by one place, taking 26th in the regional race... placed 23rd at the Pac-10 Championships... was 63rd at the Pre-National meet.
Northern Arizona: Competed for two years at Northern Arizona (Flagstaff, Ariz.) before transferring to Arizona State... finished as the Big Sky Conference runner-up in the 1,500m run at the 2010 outdoor championships... helped the distance medley relay to a Big Sky title at the 2009 indoor championships... was a member of three Big Sky Championship teams, including the 2009 and 2010 indoor champions and the 2009 outdoor champions... competed in the USA Junior Championships and took third in the 1,500m run in 2009 and 2010.
High School: A 2008 graduate of Piedmont Hills High School (San Jose, Calif.)... lettered three times each in cross country and track & field... captained the track team twice and the cross country team once... named his team's MVP for track & field as a junior and senior... also was MVP in cross country as a senior... named the Senior Class Athlete of the Year... holds the school record in the mile at 4:15.
