Career: Tied for ninth place on the school's career saves list with 13...made 73 appearances in his three seasons at ASU, which is the seventh-most all-time in school history...was used primarily as an 8th-inning reliever his freshman season, moved to a starting role his sophomore year and was the team's closer his junior season.
2012 (Junior): Earned Pac-12 All-Conference honorable mention recognition...his 11 saves are tied for the third-most in a single season in school history and were third-most in the Pac-12...made a team-high 31 appearances, fifth most in the conference, and all to finish out the game...18 of his appearances came in conference play...ranked first on the team with a .179 opposing batting average and second in ERA with 1.62...gave up just six extra-base hits in 33.1 innings...named to NCBWA Stopper of the Year Award Watch List for top reliever in nation...was a Baseball America Preseason Second Team All-American selection.
2011 (Sophomore): Joined the Sun Devil rotation, working mostly as the Sunday starter...started 14 games...went 7-4 with a 4.14 ERA...fanned 72 batters in 76.0 innings of work...walked only 21 hitters while allowing opponents to hit .259 against him...threw a complete game shutout at Cal, the first of his career.
2010 (Freshman): A key cog in the outstanding Sun Devil bullpen...was used mostly as the 8th inning set-up man...made 28 appearances, all in relief, compiling a 2-0 record with two saves...dominated hitters, striking out 43 batters in 29.0 innings of work...walked only 10 hitters while allowing opponents to hit .241 against him...finished the season with a 3.41 ERA.
High School: A 2009 graduate of Desert Ridge High School in Mesa Arizona...a four-year letterwinner in baseball, including 2009 when he was team captain...was named the 2009 Arizona State Player of the Year and First Team All-State in both 2008 and 2009...was the two-time Pima Region Player of the Year...helped lead Desert Ridge to the 2009 5A-2 State Championship...set Arizona High School records with 19 home runs and 65 RBI in 2009...also went 9-3 on the mound with 99 strike outs.
MLB Draft: Was a third round selection (99th overall) of the Toronto Blue Jays in the 2009 Major League Baseball draft.
