Devils at the 2007 College World Series - Day 1
Arizona State is in Omaha, Neb., to compete in its 20th College World Series
Football: One of the Sun Devils most consistent wide receivers, Jones finished the 2007 season with 46 receptions for 769 yards and 10 touchdowns...has appeared in 37 games over his career, making 70 catches for 1,109 yards and 13 scores.
2007 (Sophomore): Appeared in 35 games, playing in centerfield...made 12 starts...hit .316 in 19 at-bats...fell a home run shy of the cycle in a win over Hawai'i on April 25.
2006 (Freshman): Joined the team after spring football practice...appeared in 10 games, hitting .313 with three RBI...started the final six games of the season, including all three NCAA Tournament games.
High School: A 2004 graduate of Fort Bend Austin High School in Sugar Land, Texas...earned two baseball letters and three for football...started in centerfield...led his team in stolen bases as a junior...versatile athlete who quarterbacked the football team as a senior...threw for 1,997 yards and 17 touchdowns...also rushed for 684 yards and five more touchdowns...was the starting quarterback for the Texas High School All-Star game the summer after his senior year...also listed as the No. 36 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 95 player in the state of Texas by Rivals.com...listed as the No. 88 player in the state of Texas by SuperPrep Magazine...a member of the Houston Chronicle's Top 100 list...was a first-team all-district selection and team MVP as a senior...finished second in the league in passing yards as a senior...started his first game as a 14-year-old sophomore...runs the 40 in 4.45 seconds and sports a 36 1/2-inch vertical jump.
