2002 (RS-Freshman): A walk-on catcher who saw limited action as a backup catcher... made the 25-travel squad for three Pac-10 series... recorded first career hit with a sharp single to center field vs. Portland (5/14)... played for the Kenai Peninsula Oilers in the Alaskan League.
High School: 2000 graduate of Juneau-Douglas High School... lettered twice in baseball under head coach Jim Ayers... also played four years of football and wrestled all four years... captain of the baseball team senior year and wrestling squad junior and senior years... named first-team all-state senior year in baseball as a catcher... three-time all-region champion in wrestling... State champion at 171 pounds senior year on the mat... second team All-American by Wrestling USA... hit five home runs in 12 game season senior year on the diamond.
