TEMPE, Ariz. - Former Sun Devil infielder Greg Bordes attempted to take down the Chompies Jewish Slider Challenge on Tuesday night in Tempe. Bordes took on five pounds of brisket, cheese, potato pancakes, challah bread and onion strings, attempting to eat 12 of the sliders in 30 minutes. Bordes was able to eat two pounds before time expired.
"It was a good experience because I've never done a food challenge before and the Jewish Sliders are delicious!" said Bordes. "I did better than I thought I would. I think I slowed down a lot getting into about the 7th or 8th slider, but I'm sure somebody out there could do it."

Bordes played for the Sun Devils from 2005 to 2008, making two trips to the College World Series and winning two Pac-10 titles. He was named to the All-Tempe Regional Team in 2008.
