    March 7, 2000

Arizona State sophomore second baseman Brooks Conrad has been named Pac-10 Baseball Player of the Week for February 29- March 6, Commissioner Tom Hansen announced today.

Conrad, from Spring Valley, Calif. hit 6-for-12 (.500) as Arizona State swept then-No. 25 Arizona in a non-conference series this weekend at Packard Stadium. Conrad tallied 10 RBI and six runs scored while belting two homeruns for the series. He notched a 1.000 slugging percentage and stole two bases. In Friday's game, Conrad hit a two-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the seventh to break a seven-all tie and give ASU a 9-7 victory. In Saturday's 32-3 win over the `Cats, Conrad went 4-for-7 with five RBI and three runs scored. The four hits and seven at bats were career highs.

The Player of the Week honor is the first of Conrad's career, and the 60th all-time selection for Arizona State.
