TEMPE, Ariz. - Junior third baseman Riccio Torrez has been named the Pac-10 Player of the Week, the conference announced today.

Torrez paced the Sun Devil offense all weekend, leading the team with his .438 average (7-for-16) in a three-game road sweep of California. The Phoenix, Ariz., native set a new career high with his five hits in the series opener on Thursday. He also scored three runs, drove in one run, stole two bases and played flawless defense at third base.

This marks the third career Pac-10 Player of the Week honor for Torrez and Arizona State's Conference-leading 98th all-time Player of the Week selection.
