    Pac-12 Baseball All-Conference Honors - official release

TEMPE, Ariz. - Nine Arizona State baseball student-athletes have earned All-Pac-12 Conference honors, Commissioner Larry Scott announced. Four Sun Devils were named to the first team and five earned honorable mention.

Arizona State has the most total selections with nine, while co-conference champions Arizona and UCLA each have seven.

Junior second baseman Joey DeMichele, junior shortstop Deven Marrero, junior right-hander Brady Rodgers and sophomore right-hander Trevor Williams were selected to the All-Pac-12 First Team.

This is the second All-Conference selection for DeMichele and Marrero, and they are two of 10 student-athletes on this year's list to receive the honor twice. Marrero was also named the 2011 Pac-10 Defensive Player of the Year and an honorable mention in 2010.

Rodgers was selected as an honorable mention in both 2010 and 2011, and Williams, one of four sophomores named to this year's first team, was an honorable mention in 2011.

Senior first baseman Abe Ruiz, junior outfielder Andrew Aplin, junior right-hander Jake Barrett, junior catcher Max Rossiter and sophomore designated hitter/outfielder James McDonald all earned honorable mention recognition.

UCLA and Arizona tied for the most first-team selections in the conference with six, followed by ASU with four. Stanford, Oregon State, Oregon and Washington State all had two, and Cal came in with one.

The Sun Devils finished the season with a 36-20 record, including 18-12 in conference play, to tie for third in the Pac-12 standings. Esmay led the baseball program to its 50th straight 30-win season, which is the longest current streak in Div. 1 baseball, and orchestrated six three-game series sweeps for the second time in his three seasons at ASU. The team swept four straight Pac-12 home series' for the first time since 1988 and only the third time in program history.
