SUCCESSFUL AT HOME
The Sun Devil men's hoops team (18-5; 7-3) plays host to a 5 p.m. MT tilt vs. Stanford on Saturday (Feb. 9) after topping California 66-62 on Thursday. ASU is now 14-2 at home on the season (the school record for home wins is 16-4 in 2009-10) and will try and sweep the Bay Area schools at home for the first time since 1994-95, which is also the last time ASU started 7-3 as that Sweet Sixteen squad started 8-3. Dave Flemming and Sean Farnham have the call on ESPNU. ASU has won four of past five and is averaging 79.4 points in those five tilts.
Evan Gordon is averaging 16.2 points and 39.0 minutes in the past five games after his 23-point effort vs. California on Feb. 7...senior Ruslan Pateev tied a career-high with 12 points and made a career-high six field goals (and tied a career-high with nine attempts) and added season-high eight rebounds in a season-high 26 minutes off the bench vs. California...sophomore Jonathan Gilling is averaging 10.8 points, 7.8 rebounds and 4.6 assists in the past five games...ASU ranks second in Pac-12 in scoring through 10 conference games at 70.8 ppg. and also leads league in field goal percentage (.458)...Jahii Carson is tied for league lead in points per game in those 10 tilts (18.4) with Roberto Nelson of Oregon State.

THIS WAS IMPRESSIVE
ASU outrebounded UCLA 53-33 on Jan. 26, and the +20 margin is the biggest rebounding margin in a conference game for ASU under Coach Sendek. Its 98 points vs. USC was the third-most in the Coach Sendek era at ASU.
ASU has 160 blocks in 23 games (7.0 per game) which enters this weekend as fourth in the nation and opponents have taken 1,408 shots so that means every 8.8 field goal attempt gets blocked by a Sun Devil...junior Jordan Bachynski has 92 blocks (4.0 PG) and last year's Pac-12 leader, Eric Moreland of Oregon State, fihished with 69/1.9 bpg...in the first 41 games of his career Jordan Bachynski shot 42-of-88 (.478) from field. In the past 35 games he is 134-213 (.629)...ASU has 160 blocks on the year, the most by a Sun Devil squad since the 1996-97 team had school record 172.

CLOSE GAME STATS
ASU is now 8-4 in overtime under Coach Sendek after its 55-54 win over Utah on Jan. 2 and its 98-93 track meet win vs. USC on Jan. 24. Many say that a two-possession game (six points) is a close game, and if you go by that ASU is 32-24 (.571) in those contests in the past six seasons.
ASU had 14 three-pointers at Texas Tech on Dec. 22, just the 12th time in school history it had hit 14 and it tied for the second-most in a road game. ASU hit 16 at Brigham Young on Dec. 1, 1992, and also had 14 at Oregon on Jan. 30, 1993.
Jahii Carson, with 20 points at Oregon State (Jan. 10) and at Oregon (Jan. 13), became the first Sun Devil freshman to get back-to-back 20-point games on a Pac-12 road trip since Steve Beck in the Bay Area on March 1-3, 1984. Beck had four 20-point games in Pac-12 road games, as did James Harden (2007-08), Ike Diogu (2002-03) and Jamal Faulkner (1990-91), but none of that trio did it on the same Pac-12 road weekend and now his streak is at four 20-point games on the road with 25 at Washington State and 32 at Washington.
