ASU: Big, athletic defensive tackle that had three outstanding seasons in a Sun Devil uniform...an excellent pass-rushing force along the defensive line, he finished his career with 122 tackles (48 solo), 23 tackles for loss, eight sacks, two fumble recoveries and a forced fumble...a staple on defense, he appeared in 35 games and made 31 starts...started 11 games at defensive tackle in 2009 and played in all 12 games as a true freshman in 2008, moving into the starting lineup for the final eight games...named to several Freshman All-America teams, including Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 in 2008.
2010: Played and started in all 12 games...ended the year with 41 tackles (14 solo), six tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks and a pair of pass break-ups...collected five tackles (one solo) Sept. 25 against Oregon...recorded five tackles (one solo) vs. UCLA Nov. 26...finished the Sept. 18 bout vs. Wisconsin with three tackles (two solo) and a one-yard sack...grabbed four tackles (one solo) Sept. 11 vs. Northern Arizona...had four tackles (one solo) and assisted on a sack vs. USC Nov. 6...collected 1.5 tackles for loss in a win over Arizona Dec. 2...made at least one tackle in all 12 games.
2009: Recorded 37 tackles (20 solo), seven tackles for loss, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery on the season...led the team in sacks with four and a half, and in quarterback hurries with three...started 11 games at defensive tackle...had his best game of the season Oct. 31 against California, finishing the day with five tackles (three solo), two sacks, two tackles for loss and a forced fumble he returned for eight yards...recorded five tackles (four solo), two and a half sacks, and a team-high three and half tackles for loss Oct. 10 vs. Washington State...collected 4 tackles and half a tackle for loss in his first game of the season Sept. 19 against ULM.
2008: Played in all 12 games, starting the final eight games of the season...totaled 44 tackles (17 solo), 10.0 tackles for loss (minus 22 yards), two sacks (minus nine yards) and one fumble recovery that he returned for a touchdown...his 44 tackles were the second-highest among Pac-10 defensive tackles on the season...earned First-Team Freshman All-American honors from the Football Writers Association of America, Sporting News, PhilSteele.com and CollegeFootballNews.com...also was an Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 selection...had three tackles in his first career college game, ASU's season-opening win over Northern Arizona on Aug. 30...collected five tackles (one solo) in victory over Stanford on Sept. 6...recorded four tackles against UNLV on Sept. 13...had four tackles and a half-sack against No. 3 Georgia on Sept. 20...made his first start at California on Oct. 4, totaling six tackles (two solo), including four tackles for loss and a half-sack...collected three tackles (two solo) and a tackle for loss against Oregon on Oct. 25...had six tackles (three solo) and a tackle for loss at Oregon State on Nov. 1...recovered a fumble and returned it 22 yards for a touchdown in the fourth quarter of victory over Washington State on Nov. 15...also had three tackles (two solo) and a tackle for loss as part of defensive effort that produced ASU's first shutout since 1996 in the win over the Cougars...recorded five tackles (three solo), 2.5 tackles for loss and one sack in victory over UCLA on Nov. 28...posted four tackles (three solo) and a tackle for loss at Arizona on Dec. 6...won the Bill Kajikawa Sun Devil Award as the team's most outstanding freshman at year-end banquet.
