ASU: Walk-on who joined the team prior to the start of the 2006 season...saw his first career game action in 2007...will compete for time among ASU's talented and competitive running backs unit this season...earned Hard Hat player recognition for his work in ASU's offseason strength and conditioning program, placing in the top 10 in overall points.
2007: Played in one game, ASU's season-opening victory over San Jose State...had two carries in the fourth quarter against the Spartans.
2006: Redshirted as a member of ASU's scout team.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2006 graduate of Sunrise Mountain High School in Peoria, Ariz....holds school records for most yards in a season, most touchdown in a season and most touchdowns in a game...rushed for 1,667 yards during his senior year...was football team captain as a senior...lettered in football, wrestling and track and field.
PERSONAL: A pre-med biology major at ASU...parents are Larry (sales) and Jodi Ptacek (realtor) of Glendale, Ariz....has two sisters, Tina and Jenna...born in Phoenix, Ariz.
