Terrell Suggs Named To Sporting News Magazine's College Football All-Decade Team

    Sept. 24, 2009

TEMPE, Ariz. - Former Arizona State University defensive end Terrell Suggs was named to Sporting News Magazine's All-Decade Team in the issue released Thursday.

Suggs, who played at ASU from 2000-2002, holds the school record with 44 career sacks, and he set the NCAA single-season record with 24 sacks as a junior in 2002. That season, he was named a Consensus All-American and he won the Rotary Lombardi Award, the Bronko Nagurski Trophy, the Ted Hendricks Award and the Pacific-10 Conference Defensive Player of the Year Award.

He then entered the 2003 NFL Draft and was selected by the Baltimore Ravens in the first round with the 10th overall selection. He was named the NFL's Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2003, and he is a three-time Pro Bowl selection (2004, 2006 and 2008).

Suggs is one of three Pac-10 players among the 26 selected, joining former USC quarterback Matt Leinart and former California center Alex Mack.
