TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State University and the University of Colorado have agreed to a new home and home football series for the 2013 and 2018 seasons, the schools announced Tuesday.
The Buffaloes will play host to Arizona State at Folsom Field on September 14, 2013, and will return to Tempe on September 15, 2018.
"We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Boulder earlier this season and renewing this series was a priority for us," says Lisa Love, Vice President for Athletics at Arizona State. "We are thrilled to have a series of this magnitude on our future schedules. We traveled very well to Boulder and our fans had a great time. It was a tremendous experience. It is an easy trip and we look forward to hosting Colorado next season in Tempe."
"Colorado has a large alumni base in the Phoenix area and we recognize the great opportunity to build our relationships with this important constituency through the upcoming games with Arizona State University," says Colorado Director of Athletics Mike Bohn. "This contest is also important to our recruiting efforts in the west and provides a quality game for national television exposure."
Colorado travels to ASU on September 8, 2007 for the return game from 2006.
In this year's game, the Sun Devils prevailed 21-3 in a nationally televised contest by TBS.
In related scheduling news, the ASU-CU series was made possible when the University of Notre Dame asked ASU to move its previously scheduled series. The ASU-Notre Dame series will now take place on Oct. 25, 2014 in Tempe and on Sept. 16, 2017 in South Bend.
