Arizona State wide receivers Jamal Miles and Gerell Robinson have earned College Football Performance Awards for week 11 after their contributions against Washington State Nov. 12 at Martin Stadium in Pullman, Wash.
Miles, who garnered National Kickoff Returner Performer of the Week, took the game's opening kickoff back 95 yards for a touchdown and his big-play potential subsequently gave ASU favorable field position numerous times. He finished with two returns for 112 yards and added seven catches for 27 yards. Miles received National Punt Returner Performer for Week five after bringing a punt back for a 78-yard touchdown against Oregon State.
Robinson received Honorable Mention Wide Receiver Performer of the Week following eight catches for a season-high 158 receiving yards and a touchdown, his fifth of the year. He reached the end zone on a 16-yard catch near the four-minute mark of the third quarter to give the Sun Devils a four-point lead.
The purpose of the College Football Performance Awards is to provide the most scientifically rigorous distinction in college football. Recipients are selected based exclusively on objective scientific rankings and place emphasis on the extent to which individual players increase the overall effectiveness of their teams. The CFPA is also the sole group to honor national freshman performer of the year, kickoff returner, punt returner and kickoff specialist.
