Magee Named Pac-12 Football Player Of The Week

    Nov. 26, 2012

WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Linebacker Brandon Magee has been named Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Magee had a career-high 17 tackles (14 solo), including three tackles for loss, in the Sun Devils' 41-34 Territorial Cup victory over Arizona in Tucson on Nov. 23.

His 14 solo tackles are the most in Territorial Cup history and his 17 total are tied for the fifth most in the storied rivalry. Magee, who leads the team and ranks second in the Pac-12 with 104 tackles on the year, became the first Sun Devil to have more than 100 tackles since Robert James in 2007.

Magee anchors a defense that is second in the Pac-12 and 27th in the nation in total defense, and second in the nation in both in sacks and tackles for loss. He ranks 31st in the nation in total tackles, and is 11th in the Pac-12 and tied for 49th in the nation in sacks.

Running back Marion Grice and punter Josh Hubner were also nominated for offensive and special teams player of the week, respectively.
