TEMPE, Ariz.-- The ASU men's golf team fired a final-round 298 to tie for sixth place (294-295-298--887) Sunday at the U.S. Collegiate Championship in St. Augustine, Fla.
Florida State shot 290 in the final round to capture the team title (286-292-290--868) at the Slammer and the Squire Course at the World Golf Village. New Mexico's D.J. Brigman claimed medalist honors with a final round 68 to finish at 6-under par 210 (72-70-68).
Freshman Jeff Quinney placed seventh as ASU's top finisher with an even par 216 (70-72-74). Freshman Paul Casey placed 12th at 219 (74-72-73) to round out the Sun Devils' top-20 finishers.
All five ASU golfers placed in the top-35. Freshman Jin Park tied for 21st at 224, and junior Greg Padilla tied for 29th with a total of 226. Junior Brad Cannon tied for 35th at 229.
ASU is back in action April 17-19 when it hosts the ASU Thunderbird/Savane Invitational at the Karsten Golf Course.
