    Men's Golf Completes First Fall Tournament, Finishes 9th

    The Arizona State men's golf team concluded the final round of their opening tournament Monday, finishing 9th in the Gopher Invitational in Wayzata, Minn. Mathias Schjoelberg led the charge for the Devils, finishing 17th.

    ASU started the day tied for 11th, but leaped two teams before the round's conclusion. They finished with a 56-over par 920.

    Schjoelberg, the sophomore team leader, finished the tournament with a 9-over par 225. He gained one position on the day to finish 17th after being tied for 10th after the first round.

    Freshman Spencer Lawson, in his first collegiate tournament, concluded tied for 32nd with a 14-over par 230. Co-freshman John Rahm Rodriguez jumped 13 positions to finish tied for 41st. Max Rottluff and Austin Quick finished tied for 57th and 69th-place respectively.

    California capped off an impressive three-day performance with a victory, the squad ending the tournament with a 2-under par 862. They were 14 strokes ahead of second-place Southern Methodist University.
