    LIVE SCORING

Arizona State freshman golfer Max Rottluff will be representing the Sun Devils at the World Amateur Team Championship, which begins Thursday, Oct. 4. Rottluff will join his fellow German golfers who compile to make up the German National Team. The tournament stretches four days, each day consisting of 18 holes of strokeplay.

Rottluff joined the German National Team in the fall of 2009, where he has since made his presence felt with his impressive play so much that he was nominated for the 2012 Eisenhower Trophy as one of the top players from Germany. In 2010 Rottluff earned medalist honors at the 47th Junior Orange Bowl in sudden-death fashion as he defeated USA's Curtis Thompson. He was also a finalist at the 2010 British Boys. In 2009 he captured his first international win at the Harder German Junior 2009 Masters, and also took home honors at the 2010 Scottish Youth. In 2011 he was a member of the German men's and boy's team championship, while in 2012 he won the Turkish Amateur Championship.

"Max really doesn't have a weakness; he is strong in every facet of his game. He is a very dedicated and driven student-athlete who competes at a high-level," Sun Devil coach Tim Mickelsonsaid about Rottluff.

Rottluff joins a cast of 10 other Sun Devils to participate in the World Amateur Team Championship. Those golfers include: Phil Mickelson (1990), Todd Demsey (1994), Paul Casey (2000), Kurt Mayr (2000), Jeff Quinney (2000), Benjamin Alvarado (2002, 2004, 2006), Niklas Lemke (2002, 2004), Knut Borsheim (2006, 2008), Stephan Gross (2008), Jesper Kennegard (2008 and 2010) and James Byrne (2010)

The World Amateur Team Championship, conducted by the International Golf Federation, has been held once every two years since 1958, with the teams competing for the Eisenhower Trophy. Past participants in the event include Jack Nicklaus, Tom Kite, Ben Crenshaw, Curtis Strange, Nick Price, Vijay Singh, Colin Monthomerie, Jose Maria Olazabal, Justin Leonard, Michael Campbell, Tiger Woods, Sergio Garcia, Trevor Immelman, Ben Curtis and Luke Donald.
