Wrestling to Host Wrestle-Offs On Friday
Sun Devils will hold an intrasquad scrimmage of sorts to open up the 2011-12 season in Tempe.
Arizona State - 2010-11: Saw a marked improvement in performance and in participation as a red shirt sophomore in the 285 pound division... Finished the season with a winning overall record of 12-11 while going 0-1 in duals... Finished fourth at the Embry-Riddle Open to start the season and snatched a sixth-place finish at the Cal State-Fullerton Open...2009-10: Saw limited action at 197 pounds and posted a 2-7 overall record on the year... placed seventh at the Pac-10 Championships... 2008-09: Redshirted... competed in the Embry-Riddle Open at heavyweight and won the title.
High School: A graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School (Denver)... lettered three times each in wrestling, football and lacrosse as well as twice in track & field... went 40-6 as a senior after going 35-7 as a junior with a fourth-place finish at the state meet... his 40 wins ranks as the most in a season while 94 career wins is the most in school history... recorded a career-best 59 falls with a season record 29 pins as a senior... earned all-league first team as a senior... second team as a junior and honorable mention as a sophomore.
