Sun Devil Wrestling Eliminated from Va. Dual With Loss to NDSU, 23-19
Cooper picks up his 20th win of the season but it is not enough for ASU in Hampton, Va.
Arizona State - 2010-11: Compiled a 13-17 overall record on the season... Finished fourth at the Embry-Riddle Open to open up the season, recording a fall, a technical fall and a major decision on the way...2009-10: Competed in a pair of tournaments... went 3-1 at the Fullerton Open and 1-2 at the Reno Tournament of Champions... did not place in either tournament at 133 pounds... recorded the first major decision win of his collegiate career with a 14-6 score at the Fullerton Open... added his first technical fall win with a 17-1 score in his lone win in Reno... 2008-09: Took over the starting duties at 133 late in the season... finished eighth at the Pac-10 Championships... pinned Andy Nowak (Cal Poly) in 4:48 for his lone win of the season... competed as an unattached wrestler in two open tournaments before earning the starting position... did not place at the CS Fullerton Open at 125 pounds and took third at the Embry-Riddle Open at 125 pounds... 2007-08: Redshirted.
High School: A graduate of Freedom High School (Oakley, Calif.)... lettered four times in wrestling... qualified for the state wrestling tournament four times... won the North Coast Section twice... placed fourth as a junior and second as a senior at the state tournament... twice selected as the league MVP... two-time all-league selection... selected as on the Top 100 Athletes by the Contra Costa Times... holds the school record for wins in a season with 47 and career wins by technical fall with 85.
