Chris Colvin
Basketball
Chris is a member of the ASU men's basketball team and is having a tremendous semester. Academically, Chris is in his second semester at ASU after transferring from Palm Beach Community College and is working towards a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. After struggling a bit in the Fall semester, Chris is currently earning all A's and B's in 16 credit hours this Spring. Off the court, Chris has done a tremendous amount of community service this year. He has volunteered on several occasions at Phoenix Children's Hospital and has visited a number of elementary school classrooms throughout the Phoenix area reading to kids. Chris' willingness to serve the community makes him a great example of what it means to be a Sun Devil student-athlete.
Darwin Rogers
Football
Darwin is a transfer football student-athlete from AZ Western Community College where he received his AA degree and is in his first semester at ASU. He has done an amazing job this semester - he is a Communication major and currently has a 4.00 in all his classes. In addition to his success in the classroom, Darwin is actively involved in community service activities such as community clean-up projects and spending time in elementary schools talking about the importance of school and making good decisions. He is a very positive person who has a great work ethic on and off the football field, and a commitment to excellence in everything he does - all of which make him a great Sun Devil!
Elizabeth Caporuscio
Softball
Elizabeth is a freshman from California majoring in Environmental Chemistry. She has established herself as the starting center fielder for the softball team, which currently holds a top-5 national ranking. She is one of only three Sun Devils to start every game this season and can usually be found batting clean up in a talent-filled order. This type of pressure would be too much for some freshmen, but Elizabeth has handled it extremely well and thrived in intense situations. Elizabeth has also managed to excel in her classes, which prove to be extremely difficult to most. She is on track to have a great career on and off the field and is a solid role model for all Sun Devils.
Ao Gao
Water Polo
A freshman from China, Gao has worked very hard to study in the United States. She attended classes in the Fall semester at ASU in order to be better prepared when she started school as a Freshman in the Spring 2012 semester. Gao has worked very hard in her classes so far this semester. She often puts in 15+ hours in study hall each week, working with her mentor and tutors. Gao had some adversity to overcome early on in the semester and could have easily started to let her academics slide, but she didn't. Gao always maintained a positive attitude and never once let her studies slide. Her positive attitude and work ethic are something to be proud of.
