    No. 17 Women's Golf Competes in Darius Rucker Intercollegiate

    HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - Fresh off sophomore Noemi Jimenez' first-career individual title, the 17th-ranked Arizona State women's golf team heads to Hilton Head Island, S.C., Mar. 8-10, to compete in the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate. The tournament, named for the Hootie and the Blowfish frontman, will be held at the par-71, 6,211-yard Long Cove Golf Club.

    The SEC and ACC laden field features some of the top competition in the country. Arizona State is the only Pac-12 team in the 15-team tournament. Competing in the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate are: Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Furman, Georgia, LSU, North Carolina, South Carolina, TCU, Tennessee, UCF, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Wake Forest.

    Competing in the Arizona State line-up is: sophomore Noemi Jimenez, junior Laura Blanco, junior Daniela Ordonez, sophomore Emilie Alonso and junior Nicole Jones.

    Last tournament at the Cal Classic, Jimenez won the 78th individual title in Arizona State history. The sophomore recorded ten birdies over two rounds to finish with a total score of 5-under and won the Cal Classic by a margin of five stroke, making her the only golfer to finish the tournament under par. On Monday, Jimenez shot 4-under 68, one shot off her career-low of 67 set this fall in the opening round of the Dale McNamara Invitational.
