Nordqvist Shoots 3-Over at British Open

St. Andrews, Scotland - Arizona State women's golfer Anna Nordqvist shot a 3-over 76 in the first round of the 2007 Women's British Open at the par-73 Old Course at St. Andrews, Scotland. The 2007 Women's British open marks the first time a women's tournament has been held at the prestigious "home of golf".
Nordqvist, playing as an amateur, is competing against the likes of LPGA professionals Lorena Ochoa and Annika Sorenstam.
Nordqvist, a sophomore, was named NGCA Freshman of the Year after a stellar first year at ASU. She was also named an NGCA first-team All-American, Pac-10 Player of the Year and Pac-10 Newcomer of the Year.
The 2007 RICOH Women's British Open continues through Sunday in St. Andrews, Scotland.
