TEMPE, Ariz. - The Arizona State women's soccer team fell to the Mexican National Team, 3-0, Sunday in front of a crowd of 1,277 at Sun Devil Soccer Stadium.

The Sun Devils held Mexico scoreless through the first 35 minutes of action before Evelyn Lopez crossed the ball to Lupita Worbis who found the back of the net for the 1-0 Mexico lead.

Coached by Leonardo Cuellar, Mexico extended their lead when the Sun Devils committed a foul inside the goal box to set up a penalty kick. Tania Morales took the kick against ASU goalkeeper Briana Silvestri and increased the lead to 2-0.

The Sun Devils, who were held to one shot in the first half, had several chances at the Mexico goal in the second half, but were unable to put on in the net.

Morales scored again for Mexico as she shot one past Sun Devil keeper Katie Cochran.

Mexico out-shot ASU 15-8.

The match was the third of the weekend from Sun Devil Soccer stadium as the Sun Devils faced UCLA Saturday night, while Mexico and UCLA met on Friday.
