Last time out the Sun Devils went 5-1 over the weekend, dropping its first loss of the season for a record of 21-1 entering the Diamond Devil Invitational. Junior outfielder Alix Johnson was named the Pac-12 Player of the Week on Tuesday, her first conference weekly nod of her career. Johnson hit a team-best .750 at the plate, scored 12 runs, had nine hits and three homers.

As a team, ASU is hitting .365, which is tops among Pac-12 schools. The Sun Devils are second in team pitching, with a 1.45 ERA behind starters Mackenzie Popescue (0.83 ERA, 9-0) and Dallas Escobedo (1.90 ERA, 11-1, 120 strikeouts). The pitching staff now has four athletes active and with at least three appearances under their belts.

ASU's hitters also pace the conference in several categories: Runs (Coyle, 1st, 28); RBI (Coyle, 3rd, 26); Doubles (Caporuscio, 1st, 7); Home Runs (Coyle, 4th, 8). As a team, Arizona State hit five home runs against North Dakota on Feb. 28, boosting the season team total to 37 homers. At the dish ASU has had 12 games with double-digit hits from the offense, which is also helping in out-scoring opponents 214-91 so far.

Clint Myers is on his way to collecting his 400th win with Sun Devil softball. Myers ranks second among Division I winningest active coaches with a .814 win percentage. He only trails behind in-state rival Mike Candrea of Arizona. In win/loss percentage since Myers joined Arizona State, 2006, the skipper is third, also with a .814 win percentage. He marks the highest Pac-12 school ranked in that category in that time frame, and one of just three in the top 10.

The softball coaching staff provided a coaching clinic for 14 coaches from the Dominican Republic and Venezuela on Wednesday afternoon. The coaches are hosted by the U.S. Department of State, in a week long visit to Arizona for MLB Spring Training and the clinic at Arizona State. This is the third year ASU has participated in the program.
