    Softball and 12 All-Conference Honorees Kick Off Postseason Friday

    PAC-12 ALL-CONFERENCE RELEASE
    TEMPE, Ariz. -
    The No. 2 Arizona State softball team starts off the first round of postseason play this weekend, seeded third, beginning with a matchup against LIU Brooklyn.

    The Devils, who wrapped up the regular season with a 46-7 overall and 18-4 Pac-12 Conference record, will square off versus the Blackbirds (25-33, 13-7 NEC) on Friday evening at 6:30 p.m. PT. They will then face either Syracuse or Long Beach State on Saturday. For more information, including the NCAA bracket, visit NCAA Tournament Central, located here.

    The Tempe Regional, one of 16 across the nation, will feature four teams in a double-elimination contest, with the winner of each regional advancing to the Super Regional. The Arizona State postseason page is located here.

    SOFTBALL HAS 12 HONORED FOR PAC-12 ALL-CONFERENCE | Full Teams | Conference Release
    Four Sun Devils donned First-Team Pac-12 All-Conference honors, two Second Team distinctions and three with Honorable Mention status. Three newcomers were listed on the inaugural Pac-12 All-Freshman Team. Senior Katelyn Boyd picked up the Pac-12 Softball Batting Championship title - she boasts a .457 batting average which ranks fifth nationally.

    The four Sun Devils making it on the First-Team ballot marks the second most in program history dating back to 1987 - the most for ASU coming in 2008 when six were honored.

    All session passes for Sun Devil softball go on sale to the general public at 1 p.m. Monday (May 14) as Arizona State will host first-round NCAA postseason action beginning Thursday this week at Farrington Stadium. Those that have already ordered tickets can pick up the tickets starting Monday at 1 p.m.

    Single-game tickets will go on sale no later than 9 a.m. on Wednesday, May 16. Credit card machines are at the ticket booth at Farrington Stadium.

    PREVIOUSLY FOR THE DEVILS
    Arizona State wrapped up the regular season in a highly contested series against No. 1 California, which saw the Devils go 1-2 on the weekend, winning their final game of the regular season. ASU notched 25 hits in the series, five of which came in the final inning with two outs on the board in Sunday's victory.

    SCOUTING THE COMPETITION
    LIU Brooklyn: The Blackbirds are 25-33 overall with a 13-7 Northeastern Conference record after winning the NEC Championship. LIU Brooklyn is hitting a cumulative .246 on the season, led by a .320 clip from Nichole Toven. The bullpen, which is four pitchers deep, is spearheaded by right-hander Megan Sheaf's 3.06 ERA. 

    Syracuse: Heading into the postseason with a 40-14 record, the Orange finished Big East play at 17-5. Lisaira Daniels leads the team with a .342 batting average, contributing to the .249 team total, while Jenna Caira leads the pitching staff with a 25-7 record on a 1.56 ERA.

    Long Beach State: The 49ers kick off the regional after a 28-23 season, going 16-5 in the Big West Conference. The team is hitting a cumulative .280, including Hannah De Gaetano's .337 clip. Erin Jones-Wesley has a 20-12 pitching record, with a 1.97 ERA.
