BOGOTA, Colombia - In only three games played, future Sun Devil hurler, Dallas Escobedo has made a name for herself at the 2010 Pan American Games helping to combine for a no-hitter against Columbia and a one-hitter against Argentina.
In her start against Colombia, Dallas put in four innings of work, where she faced the minimum batters, striking out six, including five in a row. She was relieved in the fifth by Lauren Haeger, who struck out three while walking one.
“It felt great to play in the jersey,” Escobedo said. “I’ve looked up to everyone who has ever worn this jersey. And I’ve pitched against the top people in the world who have worn this jersey. Now I’m the one that is on the team. I am very pleased and thankful that I got the chance to play.”
Fans of Escobedo can also catch the budding star in the Aug. 2-9 issue of Sports Illustrated where she's featured on page 126 in the 'Where Will They Be?" section.
