SAN DIEGO, Calif. - Sophomore Nadia Abdala stepped up again Saturday afternoon at the 2007 ITA West Region Championships as she grabbed another win in single quarterfinals action to advance to the semifinal round to be played tomorrow. Nadia also paired up with sister, Laila to grab another win in doubles to advance to the semifinal round in doubles as well. Both singles and doubles action will continue tomorrow in San Diego at San Diego State University.

Up first, Nadia Abdala continued her singles streak as the No. 4 seed in the tournament, where she faced the No. 8 seed, LMU's Pavla Mesterova. Abdala actually fell in the first set 3-6 for the first time all tournament before coming back from behind to take the next two 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the semifinal round where she will take on the No. 10 seed, USC's Amanda Fink tomorrow.

In doubles action the Abdala sisters paired up again to take another win as they took down the tournament's No. 5 seed, UCLA's Joelson-McGoodwin pair in a tough 8-5 win. The Abdalas will face the tournament's No. 1 seed, UCLA's Zalameda-Schnack duo in semifinal action.
