TEMPE, Ariz.—The Sun Devil women’s tennis program announces that Desirae Krawczyk of Rachco Mirage, Calif., and Stephanie Vlad of Scottsdale, Ariz., have signed letters of intent to study and compete at Arizona State, head coach Sheila McInerney announced today.
“We feel very fortunate and are extremely excited to have both Desirae and Stephanie join our program,” said head coach Sheila McInerney. “They are talented players and more importantly good kids and we feel that their best tennis is ahead of them.“
Krawczyk, a 2012 graduate from Palm Desert high school in Racho Mirage, Calif. holds a 32-15 overall singles record. Ranked third in the southwest region, Krawczyk is the 17th-ranked recruit in the nation.
Vlad, a local product from Scottsdale, Ariz., holds a 59-14 singles record, including a 23-3 record over five-star recruits. The top-ranked player for the state of Arizona, Vlad is ranked 20th overall in the nation.
“[Assistant coach Clint Letcher] and I have enjoyed watching Desirae and Steph play the past couple of years and we are anxious to get them on campus and start working with them,” said McInerney. “They are so excited to be SUN DEVILS and we believe their future is bright.”
