Sun Devil Tennis Signs Jump, O'Sullivan to Fall Class

    Nov. 16, 2012

Arizona State women's tennis head coach Sheila McInerney announced today that Kassidy Jump and Gussie O'Sullivan signed letters of intent to study and play tennis for the Sun Devils.

"We are extremely excited to have both Kassidy and Gussie join our program this coming fall," said McInernery. "They both are really good kids of high character and they love to play tennis. Kassidy and Gussie are great competitors and will add a lot to practice on a daily basis. We believe they will thrive in the team environment."

Jump, hailing from Granite Bay, Calif., is the 14th-ranked tennis player in the 2013 class from California and holds an overall record of 29-13.

"We really like her game as she is an excellent ball striker, a very good competitor and is fast," said McInerney. "Kassidy loves to play tennis. Clint and I feel there is a lot to work with and we are excited about Kassidy's upside. She is a very good player now and will continue to develop in college."

O'Sullivan, a native of Melbourne, Australia, follows in the footsteps of other great Aussie tennis players to attend ASU, like Michelle Brycki and assistant coach Clint Letcher.

"She comes from an athletic family as her dad , Shane, played AFL level Australian Rules football and her mom, Carol, was a professional tennis player," said McInerney.

"Gussie is talented and a tremendous competitor and Clint and I feel with Gussie coming into the University setting, with as much competition she is going to get, her game will really take off."

The Sun Devils concluded the fall season hosting the Thunderbird Invitational, where freshman Desirae Krawczyk took runner up honors. This spring, ASU kicks off dual competition on Jan. 20th hosting UC Davis at Whiteman Tennis Center in Tempe, Ariz.
