Student-Athlete Development has announced the student-athletes of the Fall semester here at Arizona State! Those sports with a representative on the list include men's and women's basketball, men's track and volleyball.
Daniel Auberry-Men’s Track
Daniel Auberry is a senior sprinter on the Men’s Track team. As a transfer student-athlete, Daniel has made remarkable strides towards graduating on time with his 2012 class and continues to be a role model for his teammates. During the fall, Daniel spent a lot of time securing a spring internship with the City of Phoenix and worked really hard to earn his highest semester GPA to date, 3.67. He no longer needs to meet with a mentor or fulfill a certain number of study hall hours each week. He has been training hard to have a remarkable year on the track and hopes to PR in both the 100m and 200m sprints. Daniel also hopes to graduate with honors this spring when he earns his degree in Criminal Justice & Criminology.
Janae Fulcher-Women’s Basketball
Janae Fulcher, Women’s Basketball, has exemplified The Sun Devil Athletics Way – she has competed on and off the court with passion and character while excelling in the classroom and on the court during the fall semester. Janae achieved her goal of graduating in three and a half years when she graduated in December 2011 and did so with a cumulative grade point average above a 3.00. Her efforts were not limited to her academics, however. She was active in the community giving over 15 hours of service in a variety of activities and events. She has been a significant contributor to her team, as well, as she is one of the top scorers and rebounders off the bench (a team system that plays ten deep). Janae well represents being a Sun Devil student-athlete.

Trent Lockett-Men’s Basketball
Trent Lockett is a member of the Men’s Basketball team here at ASU and had a tremendous Fall 2011 semester. Trent has set the goal of graduating from the W.P. Carey School of Business in three years and therefore had to enroll in 21 credit hours. Trent earned a 3.70 semester GPA and has an overall CUM GPA of 3.32. On top of excelling academically, Trent also participated in several community service activities including several trips to the Phoenix Children’s Hospital and reading to children at several different elementary schools. Trent currently is enrolled in 22 credit hours and is on track to graduate with a degree in Business Communications this summer.
Sofie Schlagintweit-Volleyball
Sofie will graduate in the Spring of 2012 with a degree in Microbiology. She has excelled in the classroom from the minute that she stepped on campus and has managed a 4.00 GPA for each semester that she has been here, often receiving A+’s in her classes. Sofie can often be found studying in the computer lab and at the study tables and has been a major contributor to the academic success of her team. Sun Devil Volleyball has earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award three of the four years that Sofie has been on the squad. In addition, Sofie has battled a shoulder injury over the last two years, but never once has she let her injury be a distraction from her academic coursework. Sofie is proof that studying hard and staying positive can have impressive results.
