TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State volleyball will be hosting an inter-squad scrimmage on Saturday at 1 p.m. in Wells Fargo Arena. Admission is free and seating will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
The Sun Devils will use the scrimmage as a final tune up before the team opens the regular season on Aug. 24 in El Paso, Texas at UTEP's tournament. The 2012 squad returns eight starters and 12 letterwinners from last year's squad. The 12 returning players are joined by four freshmen, who as a class were was ranked the 21st-best recruiting class in the nation by PrepVolleyball.com.
Following the conclusion of the inter-squad scrimmage, a free skills clinic will take place on the court of Wells Fargo Arena. Registration forms will be handed out upon entrance through the West Tunnel starting at 1 p.m. The first 50 participants, in grades 3rd through 6th, to turn in the registration will be eligible for participation. Completed forms are to be given to the Media Relations Director located on press row.
PARKING AND ENTERING WELLS FARGO ARENA
Fans who plan on attending the scrimmage and clinic should park in structure five to avoid traffic on the East side of the arena from the University's move-in events. ABOUT THE FREE CLINIC
The clinic, which features instruction from current ASU volleyball players and coaches, will take place on two courts inside Wells Fargo Arena from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. The clinic features first-hand instruction from the current 2012 Sun Devil team. Only those in 3rd through 6th grade are eligible to participate.
