    Volleyball Hosts California and No. 7 Stanford

    TEMPE, Ariz. - Arizona State University volleyball hosts California and No. 7 Stanford in week two of the Pac-12 Conference schedule. The Sun Devils are 12-3 on the season and 1-1 in conference play thus far.

    Off to a 12-3 start, the Sun Devils enter the weekend 1-1 in conference play. Macey Gardner is tops on kills with 281, with Erica Wilson close behind with 250 of her own.

    Alexis Pinson has made herself a mainstay in the lineup, start all 58 sets thus far en route to recorded 103 kills and a team-best 67 blocks for an average of 1.16 blocks per set.

    Freshman Allison Palmer has 688 assists for 11.86 assists per set, which ranks eighth nationally and second in the Pac-12.

    About the Cal Series
    The Golden Bears lead the series 27-28 dating back to 1980. In 2011, the Sun Devils were swept by then ranked No. 2 Cal on Oct. 21, after falling 3-1 to the fourth-ranked Golden Bears on Oct. 1. The last time ASU has beaten Cal was Nov. 24, 2010 when the Sun Devils won 3-2 in Berkeley.

    About the Stanford Series
    Stanford leads this series 59-5. Currently ranked seventh nationally, Stanford took both games in 2011 with a 3-1 win over ASU on Oct. 22 and a sweep on Sept. 30. The last time ASU beat the Cardinal was Sept. 30, 2000 with a 3-1 win. 

    Marketing Promotions
    Friday vs. California: Youth Volleyball Night/Camper Reunion Night will be rescheduled for a later date that is TBD. Because of the late notice, those who arrive wearing their club/camp shirt will still receive the $3 admission.

    Sunday vs. Stanford: High School Night - those who have preregistered through the marketing department will be granted free admission at the West Entrance with their photo ID. Gates will open at 4:30 p.m. in Wells Fargo Arena.

    Sun Devils Fall to Second-Ranked Cal, 3-0
    The Arizona State volleyball team gave a spirited effort against the California Golden Bears on Friday night at Wells Fargo Arena, but fell in three sets (25-22, 25-20, 26-24) against the second-ranked team in the country.
