WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - Arizona State volleyball had five student-athletes earn conference All-Academic honors as Commissioner Larry Scott announced the 2012 Pac-12 Conference Women's Volleyball All-Academic teams Wednesday morning.
The Sun Devils honored by the conference office are: Bethany Jorgensen and Jenny Teslevich on the first team, Caitlyn Francis on the second team and garnering honorable mention Alexis Pinson and Stephanie Preach.
"Our program has a rich history of academic success," said head coach Jason Watson. "Our athletes take their academic pursuits serious.
The volleyball program's commitment to academic success has helped Sun Devil athletics to its highest ever APR score of 978, released this past June. Volleyball's multi-year score of 985 ranks third of all programs at ASU.
"They have the resources, through our Academic Coach, Natalie Burgess, to be incredibly successful at ASU," Watson continued. "This recent recognition speaks to the academic culture within our team."
