TEMPE – The #4 Arizona State University water polo team will take place in two big conference duals this weekend as the squad takes on #2 Stanford on Saturday, March 31 before squaring off against #10 San Jose State on Sunday.

ASU will open the weekend on Saturday in Palo Alto, Calif., at 1 p.m. PT while Sunday’s game against San Jose State has been rescheduled to noon PT.

The Sun Devils enter the weekend with a 20-4 record overall and are 2-2 in MPSF competition.  A sweep of the weekend could go a long way towards ASU’s postseason hopes and would also serve to set the school record in single-season wins.  ASU currently needs just one to match the school record set by the 2008 team.

The Cardinal enter the weekend with a 16-1 record overall and 2-0 in MPSF play.   The Sun Devils have never defeated Stanford in school history.

The Spartans are currently 13-8 overall and 1-3 in MPSF play.  The Sun Devils last defeated SJSU last season in a 9-8 decision at the UC Irvine Invitational.

Entering the weekend, senior Alicia Brightwell continues to lead the MPSF conference with 54 goals, a tally that sits fifth on ASU’s all-time single season goals scored.
