Ken Landphere

TitleSr. Associate Athletics Director

Ken Landphere started in September of 2016 as Senior Associate Athletic Director, and is the primary administrator of six sports:  Women’s Volleyball, Soccer, Beach Volleyball, Softball, Men’s Basketball, and Baseball. He is also a supporting administrator for Women’s Basketball, and oversees Sun Devil “Performance”. 

In addition to overseeing multiple sports, Landphere serves as a member of the department’s Senior Management Team, and assists in the development of department policies, processes, and performance platforms, while providing mentoring and career education for student-athletes and coaches. Additionally, he lends support to the ASU Sports Law & Business Program.

Ken joined Sun Devil Athletics after working 15 years at Octagon, one of the most prominent and respected global sports agencies. While there he was the Director of Football Operations, after first serving as an NFL and MLB agent, and then in overall management and operations. Among his responsibilities at Octagon, Ken managed the football division, while advising top NFL draft selections, Pro Bowl selections, and NCAA and NFL coaches and executives, as well as representing Major League baseball players, and advising top MLB draft selections.

From 1987-2001, Ken and Ray Anderson were partners at AR Sports, where they represented professional athletes and coaches in the NFL, MLB and NCAA. The duo distinguished themselves in the representation and trailblazing of minority coaches in football, such as Tony Dungy, Herman Edwards, Dennis Green, Marvin Lewis and Tyrone Willingham. Their agency was also among the first to earn a strong reputation for highly effective advocacy during the early evolution of MLB player-club arbitration and for establishing successful international baseball operations in Japan and Latin America. In 2001, AR Sports merged with Octagon.

Ken graduated from Santa Clara University Law School in 1989 with an emphasis in Labor and Sports Law. He received his bachelor’s degree in Advertising from San Jose State University. Prior to SJSU, Landphere was a baseball student-athlete at San Diego State University.
